Dr. David E. Downs
has served as East Ohio District Superintendent since the Summer of 2001.
Prior to his district role, he served as senior pastor at Canton First Church of the
Nazarene in Canton, Ohio. David and his family came to Canton from
Dallas, Texas where he had been the pastor of Dallas First Church of the
Nazarene for five years. His wife, Susan, is a published author and an
adoption social worker. The Downs have 5 children, 3 of which are adopted. The Downs also served as Nazarene missionaries to South Korea
where Dr. Downs was a professor at the Korean Nazarene Theological
College. He is a graduate of Southern Nazarene University, holding a BA in
Sociology and an MA in Religion, and of Nazarene Theological Seminary,
from which he earned the Master of Divinity and Doctor of Ministry
degrees. |
